🪨 Our Stone Print Technique
Each of our peshtemals is decorated using the traditional stone printing technique, a slow and mindful process that turns fabric into art.
*Design Creation:
Every pattern is first hand-drawn, inspired by Anatolian symbols and nature.
*Carving the Block:
The design is carefully carved by artisans onto a soft stone or wooden block.
Each color requires its own hand-carved block.
Preparing the Fabric:
The 100% cotton fabric is washed, dried, and ironed to ensure a smooth surface that absorbs the natural dyes perfectly.
*Mixing the Natural Dyes:
Eco-friendly, plant-based pigments are prepared in small batches to achieve the perfect texture and depth of color.
*Printing by Hand:
The block is dipped into the dye and gently pressed onto the fabric by hand.
Each press leaves a unique mark — no two towels are ever identical.
*Drying & Fixing the Colors:
After printing, the fabric is air-dried and heat-set to make the colors long-lasting.
*Final Touches:
Once dried, the fabric is washed again, finished, and transformed into our signature peshtemals.
